Respect Life Corner
“The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.” Psalm 23, “Prayer to the Good Shepherd,” is a profession of the joyful trust in the
Lord as the Good Shepherd/King that has become one of the world’s
greatest prayers. In praying this psalm we can ponder the fact that
Our Heavenly Father’s love embraces us from eternity, preparing for us,
through Christ, many spiritual blessings. He watches over us as the
Good Shepherd and seeks out the stray sheep. “Green pastures”
symbolize all that makes life flourish.
The “restful waters” are Christ
himself beckoning us to live in the tranquility of His peace, to dwell in
security. Learn, Act, Connect, Pray-How can we share our trust in God
with others? How can we share His message in friendship with others?

In a compassionate, calming manner try sharing your faith with those
around you to lift them up. Share your faith with those around you who
need encouragement. Share your faith with those who are looking for
answers to their problems, such as a crisis pregnancy. Local statistic
show that 83% of women who chose abortion said they would have
carried their child to term if they had at least one person offering
loving guidance. Chemical abortions (the abortion pill) are now being
prescribed via tele-health appointments. The need is now. By
dwelling in Christ’s love, we can offer that compassion to others.
The Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen was known for saying, if
you believe the impossible, you can do the incredible.
Thank you and God bless you. !
